Learning Roadmap
This roadmap turns the PrepVerse tracks into a study plan. Adjust the pace to your schedule: the order matters more than the speed.
Before you start
- Pick one main language for problem solving (Python, Java or C++). The Python track is the quickest start.
- Create a free account on a practice platform and a GitHub account (see Practice platforms and tools).
- Plan 1 to 2 hours per day. Consistency beats marathon sessions.
The plan
| Phase | Weeks | Focus | Start here |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Foundations | 1-4 | One language, basic problem solving | Python Foundation, Complexity |
| 2. Core DSA | 5-12 | Arrays, linked lists, stacks, hashing, sorting, recursion | DSA track |
| 3. CS fundamentals | 8-16 | OS, DBMS, networks, OOP (in parallel with DSA) | OS, DBMS, Networks, OOP |
| 4. Build | 12-20 | Two real projects with deployed demos | Project ideas, Web Dev |
| 5. Design | 16-22 | System design and low-level design basics | System Design |
| 6. Interview mode | 20-26 | Mock interviews, behavioural stories, offers | Interview Prep |
Weekly rhythm
Mon-Thu : 1 new topic + 3 to 5 practice problems
Fri : revision of the week's mistakes (keep an error log)
Sat : one project task or one mock interview
Sun : rest or light reading
Checkpoints
- Week 4: you can solve easy array and string problems without hints.
- Week 12: you can explain time and space complexity and solve most medium problems in 30 to 40 minutes.
- Week 20: you have two projects on GitHub with READMEs and live demos.
- Week 26: you have completed several timed mock interviews and have a polished resume.
TIP
Keep an error log: for each problem you fail, write the pattern you missed. Reviewing the log weekly is the highest-return habit in interview preparation.
Not a beginner?
Skip to the track you are weakest in, then follow Coding interview strategy. Use the cheat sheet in CS fundamentals quick revision the week before interviews.
